Why there is no rate card
Nobody can quote you a fixed price for ChatGPT ads, and anyone who does is guessing. Early access has gone through a limited set of advertisers and managed buys, with self-serve widening over time. Managed buys are negotiated. Self-serve, where it exists, is an auction: the price moves with how many advertisers want the same conversation topic in the same country and language. That is the same logic as Google and Meta, and the same reason those platforms never publish a rate card either.
So the honest answer for Oman is a range we confirm case by case, not a number we print. Rollout is also staged by country and by plan. Whether your Oman business can buy today, join a waitlist, or should prepare and wait is a WhatsApp question — we check the current status before anything is spent, and any minimum spend that applies is part of what we confirm.
Thinking about the budget in OMR
Start from what a lead is worth to you, not from what the platform charges. A Muscat real estate broker closing one villa, a Salalah hotel filling Khareef rooms, or a Sohar dealership selling one car can each afford a very different cost per conversation. Work backwards: what does one closed sale bring in OMR, how many conversations does it take to close one, and what is the most you would pay for each conversation? That ceiling is your real budget rule.
Then set a monthly figure you can hold for a few months without flinching. In practice most Oman businesses we talk to already spend this kind of money on a single Meta or Google campaign, so it is a reallocation, not a new line. If you want a benchmark from a channel with published auction dynamics, our Google Ads cost guide shows how we reason about it in Kuwait; the logic carries over even though the dinar and the rial differ.
What drives the cost up or down
Four things move the price. Topic competition: the more advertisers who want a conversation about, say, car finance in Muscat, the more each click costs. Language: Arabic-first placements in Oman face a smaller pool of competent advertisers than English ones, which usually helps you. Landing-page quality: a page that answers the question and offers WhatsApp gets more out of every click, which lowers your effective cost even if the bid does not change. And measurement: if the OpenAI conversion pixel is not counting WhatsApp leads and calls, you will cut topics that were quietly working.
Two things do not move the price and are worth remembering. Ads cannot buy a place inside the organic answer, so no budget changes what ChatGPT recommends. And no ads run on sensitive topics, so a clinic cannot spend its way into a health conversation. Those limits shape what is worth buying in the first place. If your best-selling service sits in an excluded topic, the honest budget for ChatGPT ads is zero, and the money belongs in listings and reviews instead.
Why patience and follow-up beat bid in Oman
Oman is a trust-led, slower-buying market. A Sponsored click rarely ends in a same-day purchase. It ends in a WhatsApp message, a phone call, a visit to the showroom or hotel, and a decision days or weeks later after the family has been consulted. If you judge the campaign on day-three sales you will switch it off just before it pays. The businesses that win are the ones that reply within minutes, in Arabic, with a real person, and keep the conversation warm.
That is why we treat the follow-up flow as part of the media budget. A WhatsApp Business API setup that greets the lead, asks the qualifying question and routes to a human costs far less than the clicks it rescues. Raising the bid to win more clicks while ignoring slow replies is the most expensive mistake an Oman advertiser can make on any channel, and ChatGPT ads are no exception.
How to get a real number for your business
Send us your website, what you sell in Oman, and roughly what you spend on ads today. We check the current ChatGPT ads status for Oman, work out whether the channel is worth your budget yet, and if it is, send back a first-month outline: the tracking build, Arabic and English copy, the topics we would start with, the monthly figure we recommend in OMR, and how we report. If it is not worth it yet, we tell you that and what to prepare instead.
We measure in tracked revenue, not impressions, and we report in plain language. If a topic is costing more per conversation than your ceiling allows, you will hear it from us first. We also compare the number with what your Google and Meta campaigns already pay for a conversation, so ChatGPT ads are judged against your own baseline rather than a platform's promise. That is how a cost question becomes a business decision instead of a guess. Read next: are ChatGPT ads available in Oman yet.
