What the API actually is
It isn't an app you download. The WhatsApp Business API is Meta's way of letting software send and receive WhatsApp messages for a business. There is no phone in the middle: messages arrive in a shared inbox, several people can answer the same number, and your booking system, store or CRM can send messages on its own. That is why it runs through a provider such as Gallabox, and why it can do what the free app can't.

- ✕We don't message people who never agreed to hear from you, and we don't sell contact lists.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the WhatsApp Business API free?
- No. The WhatsApp Business app is free; the API isn't. You pay a platform plan (Gallabox starts at $112 a month billed yearly) and per-message charges for the templates you send. Setup through us is free.
- Can I keep my current WhatsApp number?
- Usually, yes. A number on the WhatsApp Business app can be moved to the API, and Meta's coexistence feature lets some businesses keep using the app on the same number. We check which applies to you before touching anything.
- Why Gallabox?
- It's an official Meta Business Partner with a shared inbox, chatbots, broadcasts and AI agents in one place, and it handles Arabic. We're its partner, so we know it well and can set it up for free. If another provider suits you better, we'll say so.
- How long does setup take?
- The slowest step is Meta's business verification, which depends on your documents. Once the business is verified, connecting the number and submitting the first templates is quick. We tell you the likely timeline after looking at your licence.
- Will my number get banned?
- Numbers are restricted when customers block and report them, not because of the tool. On the official API, with people who agreed to hear from you and messages they want, the risk is low — but nobody can promise it's zero.
