KNET & Gateway Fee Calculator

Gateway fees are quoted per transaction, which makes them feel small. Across a month they're often the third-largest cost line in a Kuwait store after goods and advertising. Enter your order value and volume to see the real number.

Numbers not yet verified

This calculator works, but the Kuwait rates behind it haven't been confirmed against a real contract yet. Enter your own numbers and treat the defaults as placeholders.

Estimates only — edit any field to match your real numbers.

Your results
Payment fees per month
217.5 KWD
Fee per order
0.725 KWD
Effective rate
2.90%
You receive per order
24.275 KWD
Cost per year
2,610 KWD

The effective rate is the number to watch. A fixed fee per transaction punishes low order values disproportionately — on a 5 KWD order a 100-fils fixed fee is 2% before any percentage is applied. If your average order is small, raising it is often worth more than negotiating the rate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does KNET charge merchants?+

It depends on your acquiring bank or aggregator — there is no single public rate, and what you're offered varies with volume. Take the number from your own contract and enter it here; that's the only figure that's true for your store.

Should I pass the fee on to the customer?+

Adding a visible surcharge at checkout is one of the most reliable ways to lose an order in Kuwait. Build the cost into the price instead — the product pricing calculator does that properly.

Are the amounts in Kuwaiti dinars?+

Yes — every currency field is KWD. The maths is currency-agnostic, so you can use it with any currency as long as you stay consistent across the fields.

Is this tool really free? Do I need an account?+

Free, and no account. Everything runs in your browser — we never see your numbers unless you press save to create a shareable link.
