Kuwait's standard customs duty on most imported goods is 5% of the CIF value — that is, goods plus freight plus insurance, not goods alone. Some categories are exempt and some are much higher, so confirm your HS code with your clearing agent before you build a price list on it.

Is customs duty in Kuwait 5% on everything?+
5% is the standard GCC rate applied to most goods, but there are exemptions and higher-rated categories. Your clearing agent can confirm the rate for your specific HS code — don't build a price list on an assumption.
Is duty charged on the freight too?+
Yes — duty is normally assessed on the CIF value, which includes freight and insurance, not just the goods. This calculator applies it that way.
Are the amounts in Kuwaiti dinars?+
Yes — every currency field is KWD. The maths is currency-agnostic, so you can use it with any currency as long as you stay consistent across the fields.
