The first hour
Do not create a new account. This is the instinct and it is the most damaging response available, because platforms detect linked accounts and creating one while restricted frequently escalates a temporary problem into a permanent one across every asset connected to you.
Read the notification carefully and identify what was restricted. There is a large difference between one ad being rejected, an ad account being paused, a business manager being restricted and a personal profile being disabled, and the recovery path is different for each. People frequently panic about the wrong one.
Screenshot everything before anything changes. The notification, the policy cited, the ads in question, the account status. Interfaces update and messages disappear, and having a record of exactly what was said is useful throughout the appeal.
Then submit the appeal through the official route and stop. Do not submit repeatedly, do not appeal from multiple accounts, do not have three people submit separately. Multiple appeals are frequently treated as a signal in themselves, and the queue is not shortened by joining it several times.

The four common causes in Kuwait
Health and results claims, by a wide margin. Clinics, aesthetic services, supplements, hair treatments and fitness are the categories most affected, and the trigger is usually language asserting an outcome — cures, permanent, guaranteed results — or before-and-after imagery, which is heavily restricted for body and cosmetic procedures.
Personal attribute targeting, which almost nobody knows is a rule. Copy implying you know something personal about the viewer — addressing their weight, their hair loss, their health condition, their financial situation — violates policy even when the underlying product is entirely legitimate. Are you struggling with X is the classic phrasing that triggers it.
Payment and account verification problems. A failed payment method, a business name that does not match the registered entity, or an unverified business can all produce a restriction that looks like a policy issue and is actually an administrative one. These are the easiest to resolve.
And unusual account activity. A new account spending aggressively from day one, a sudden large budget increase, logins from several countries, or an account created and immediately used at volume all look like risk patterns regardless of your actual intentions.
How the appeal actually works
The first review is usually automated or close to it, which means the appeal that works is short, factual and specific rather than persuasive. Explaining your business at length, expressing frustration, or arguing that the policy is unfair does not help and frequently reads as noise.
State what you believe was flagged, why it does not violate the policy cited, and what you have changed. If you have removed the offending ad or edited the copy, say so explicitly and say what it now says. An appeal that includes a specific corrective action is materially more likely to succeed than one that only disputes.
If the cause was administrative — payment, verification, a name mismatch — fix it before appealing rather than appealing and then fixing. The reviewer is checking current state, and an appeal submitted while the underlying issue is still present is usually rejected.
Timelines vary enormously and there is no guaranteed resolution. Some restrictions lift in hours, some take weeks, and some are never reversed. Plan for the possibility that this account does not come back, which is uncomfortable and is the realistic basis for what you do next.
What to do while you wait
Shift budget to the channels you still have rather than stopping entirely. If Meta is restricted, TikTok, Snapchat and Google are unaffected, and a business that spent everything on one platform discovers during a restriction why that concentration was a risk.
Lean on the assets a platform cannot restrict. Your customer list, your email and WhatsApp contacts, your organic content and your search visibility all keep working, and a business with those has a bad week where a business without them has a crisis.
Do not run ads through a friend's account or a second entity you control. This is the most common workaround and it reliably makes things worse, because platforms link accounts through payment methods, devices, IP addresses and business details, and using a related account during a restriction can result in both being disabled.
And use the time to fix the underlying cause properly. If health claims triggered it, rewrite your creative library rather than editing one ad. If it was verification, complete every outstanding step. Returning to the same practices after reinstatement usually produces a second restriction that is harder to reverse.
Preventing a recurrence
Build a pre-publication check into your process. Four questions before anything runs: does this claim an outcome we cannot prove, does it address a personal attribute, does it use before-and-after imagery in a restricted category, and would we be comfortable defending this wording. Thirty seconds, and it prevents the overwhelming majority of restrictions.
Verify your business properly and keep the details consistent. Business name matching your commercial licence, a working payment method, completed verification, and account access held by your company rather than an individual who might leave. Administrative restrictions are entirely preventable and they are a meaningful share of the total.
Do not concentrate everything on one platform. A business running Meta, one other paid channel and a genuine organic presence has redundancy; a business running only Meta has a single point of failure, and in a category prone to restrictions that is a risk you can price.
And own your accounts in your company's name with more than one admin. A restriction on a personal profile that also administers your business assets is far more damaging when that profile belongs to one person who is now unreachable. You can start a free Shopify trial and keep your store, customer list and order history in an account no advertising platform can restrict.
Frequently asked questions
Should I create a new ad account if mine is restricted?+
No — this is the most damaging response available. Platforms link accounts through payment methods, devices, IP addresses and business details, and creating one while restricted frequently escalates a temporary problem into a permanent ban across every asset connected to you. The same applies to running ads through a friend's account or a second entity you control, which is the most common workaround and reliably makes things worse.
Why do clinic and beauty ads get restricted so often in Kuwait?+
Two triggers dominate. Absolute outcome claims — cures, permanent, guaranteed results — which platforms reject regardless of whether they are true. And before-and-after imagery, which is heavily restricted for body, weight and cosmetic procedures. A third catches people out: personal attribute targeting, where copy implies you know something about the viewer. Are you struggling with hair loss violates policy while our treatment for thinning hair does not, even though both describe the same service.
How do I write an appeal that works?+
Short, factual and specific rather than persuasive, since the first review is usually automated or close to it. State what you believe was flagged, why it does not violate the policy cited, and what you have changed — an appeal including a specific corrective action is materially more likely to succeed than one that only disputes. If the cause was administrative, fix it before appealing, because the reviewer checks current state. Submit once; repeated appeals are frequently treated as a signal in themselves.
