What does a product page that sells need in Kuwait?
A product page that sells in Kuwait answers every question a shopper would otherwise send on WhatsApp, before they have to ask: what the item is, how it looks on a real person, which size to pick, when it arrives and how to pay. The description does the heaviest part of that work, and the best examples are written separately in Arabic and English, lead with how the buyer will use the item, and end with fit, care and delivery facts.
Above the fold on a phone. Above the fold means everything a shopper sees before scrolling, and for a store selling through Instagram ads that is a phone screen. It should hold a large photo they can swipe, the product name, the price in KD with any sale price shown against the original, size and colour choices as visible buttons rather than a dropdown, the add to cart button, and one short line on delivery and payment directly beneath it.
The line under the button. Something like: delivered to all governorates within a stated window, pay by KNET, card, cash on delivery or in instalments, exchanges within a stated number of days. Use your real numbers. A shopper deciding at 11 at night wants to know whether an order placed now arrives before the weekend, and a phrase like fast delivery answers nothing at all.
What does not belong there. Newsletter popups, a discount wheel, a long brand story, or a row of social icons pushing the button down the screen. Everything above the fold should help the shopper decide about this one item. If you are not sure where your store loses people, find out first with the steps in why visitors don't buy, because this page is only the fix when the drop sits between viewing a product and adding it to cart.

How to write a product description that sells, in Arabic and English
A product description is the text that tells a shopper what the item is, who it suits and what owning it is like, in the words they would use themselves. A structure that works for most Kuwait stores: one opening line about the use or the feeling, three to five specific facts, a fit or size line, care instructions, and what arrives in the box. Keep the paragraphs short, because the description will be read on a phone.
Write each language from the brief, not from the other language. A translated description keeps English sentence order and English selling points, and Arabic readers notice within a line. Start the Arabic from the same facts and ask what a Kuwaiti customer cares about first. For an abaya that may be how the fabric behaves in summer heat and whether it is see-through, while the English page for the same abaya may lead with the cut.
Choose the register on purpose. A product page can sit a little closer to standard Arabic than an ad, because it has to be clear and is read slowly, but it should still sound like a Kuwaiti shop assistant rather than an official notice. Use the everyday words customers actually type and say for abaya, oud oil, shoes and size. Those same words give search engines Arabic text to match against Arabic searches.
The tooling allows it. If you sell on Shopify, its Translate & Adapt app lets you type your own text into each language field for product titles and descriptions, and as of September 2026 Shopify's help centre advises reviewing its automatic AI translations before publishing them. Use an automatic version as a checklist of facts at most, then write the Arabic page yourself or have a Kuwaiti copywriter write it.
Product description examples: before and after, in both languages
The three products below are made up for illustration; they are not clients or real listings. Each before version is the kind of thin description that is quick to write and hard to buy from. Each after version follows the structure above. The Arabic and English after versions are not translations of each other: they share the same facts, but each one leads with what its own reader is most likely to care about first.
Abaya, before: Elegant black abaya, high quality fabric, available in all sizes. After: A straight-cut black crepe abaya with a clean line from shoulder to hem, which stays neat through a long day and does not cling in the heat. Opaque, with a hidden front zip and deep side pockets. Lengths 52 to 60 inches, measured from the shoulder; our model is 165 cm and wears 56. Machine wash cold and hang to dry. Exchange for another length within 7 days.
Oud perfume oil, before: Luxury oud oil, long lasting, best quality. After: A 12 ml concentrated oud oil, smoky with a soft sweetness, made for evenings out, Ramadan gatherings and diwaniya visits. Apply two or three drops to the wrists and collar, and test a small spot on your dishdasha or abaya fabric first. Alcohol-free. Arrives in a sealed box, ready to give as a gift, with a card if you ask for one at checkout.
Kids' shoe, before: Comfortable kids' sneakers, many colours. After: Light trainers for school days, with a hook-and-loop strap your child can fasten without help and a flexible sole for running at break time. EU sizes 28 to 35, with the inner length in centimetres beside each size. Measure your child's foot while they stand, compare it with the chart and leave a little room to grow. Wipe clean; the insole lifts out to dry.
Photos, video and sizing that answer the fit question
Plan photos as answers rather than as decoration. For each product, list the three questions buyers ask most often in your messages, then make sure one image answers each. For fashion that is usually how the piece hangs, whether the fabric is see-through and the true colour; for perfume, the bottle's size in a hand and the packaging; for children's shoes, the sole and the strap. This is the product-specific layer on top of the general advice about angles.
Video. A short vertical clip filmed on a phone does one job still photos cannot: it shows movement. Film the abaya while someone walks and turns, the oud oil being applied, a child running in the shoes. Make it work without sound, then export one version with Arabic captions and one with English captions, so each language version of the page carries its own clip rather than a compromise.
Sizing. Put measurements in centimetres or inches next to every size label, state the model's height and the size they wear, and add one honest fit note, such as runs small, size up. For abayas, say where length is measured from. For children's shoes, give the inner length. If size questions fill your WhatsApp, the page is telling you what it is missing, and a fit note answers everyone at once.
Exchanges for size. A clear line such as free exchange for another size within seven days lowers the risk of guessing wrong, and that matters more when an order is paid on delivery, because a size the customer doubts can turn into a refused parcel at the door. Put the line next to the size selector, not only on the policy page. Answer the question where it is asked, and keep the full terms one tap away.
Answer delivery, KNET, cash on delivery and instalment questions on the page
A short block under the description, titled something like before you order, answers the questions that otherwise arrive on WhatsApp one at a time. Delivery: when an order placed today will arrive, any cut-off time for same-day or next-day delivery if you offer it, and whether some governorates take longer. Cost: the delivery fee, and the free delivery threshold if you have one. Keep each answer to a single line.
Payment. List every method in the order your customers use them, for example KNET, card, cash on delivery and instalments, and say plainly if cash on delivery carries a fee or is limited to certain areas or order values. A surprise at checkout undoes the trust the product page built, and the checkout side of this problem is covered in what kills checkout in Kuwait.
Instalments. If you offer an instalment option, show the amount of each payment beside the price rather than only a logo. Worked illustration: an abaya at KD 45 split into four equal payments shows as four payments of KD 11.250. On higher-priced items that one line changes the shopper's question from whether they can afford it to whether they want it, which is the question your page is built to win.
Returns and questions. One line on returns or exchanges, linking to the full policy, and a WhatsApp button that opens a chat with the product name already filled in. Many Kuwait shoppers would rather ask a person than read a policy, and a pre-filled message means your reply can start with the right product instead of asking which item they mean.
Reviews and product recommendations that raise order value
Reviews. Put the star rating and review count next to the product name, and the reviews themselves below the description, customer photos first. The most useful reviews on a fashion page mention fit and height, so ask for exactly that when you request one, and show Arabic and English reviews on both language versions. How to collect them after delivery, and why a few critical ones help, is covered in collecting reviews in Kuwait.
Recommendations. A recommendation block on a product page works when it completes the item rather than repeating it. Pair the abaya with a matching sheila, the oud oil with bakhoor, the shoes with school socks. On Shopify, the Search & Discovery app lets you hand-pick up to ten complementary products for each item, and as of September 2026 Shopify's help centre says that block only shows in compatible themes.
Worked illustration of what that is worth: if one in five buyers of a KD 28 abaya adds a KD 6 sheila, abaya orders rise by KD 1.2 each on average, from KD 28 to KD 29.2, with no extra advertising. Across 200 abaya orders a month, that is KD 240 of added revenue. The wider toolkit, including bundles and free delivery thresholds, is in raising average order value.
Then check the page the way a customer will meet it: on a phone, in Arabic, arriving from an Instagram ad, late in the evening. Every question you still have to scroll or message to answer is the next thing to add. Change one element at a time and give it a couple of weeks, because a few days of a small store's traffic tell you very little. You can start a free Shopify trial and build bilingual product pages with complementary products and review blocks from day one.
Frequently asked questions
What should a good product description include?+
A good product description tells the shopper what the item is, who it suits and what owning it is like, in their own words. A structure that works for most online stores in Kuwait: one opening line about the use or feeling, three to five specific facts such as material, size or volume, a fit note with real measurements, care instructions, and what arrives in the box. Put one line on delivery time and exchanges close by, and keep the whole thing short enough to read on a phone.
Should I translate my product descriptions into Arabic?+
Write the Arabic rather than translating it. A translated description keeps the English order and selling points, and Arabic readers notice quickly. Start both versions from the same facts, then let each language lead with what its reader cares about most, using the words Kuwaiti customers actually type. If you sell on Shopify, the Translate & Adapt app lets you enter your own text for each language, and Shopify advises reviewing its automatic translations before publishing, so treat those as a starting checklist only.
What should be above the fold on a product page?+
On a phone screen, before any scrolling: swipeable product photos, the product name, the price in Kuwaiti dinars with any sale price shown against the original, size or colour options as visible buttons, the add to cart button, and one line underneath covering delivery time and payment methods such as KNET, card, cash on delivery and instalments. Leave popups, brand stories and social icons further down, because everything in that first screen should help the shopper decide about this one item.
