An established insurer with new-customer habits to meet
QIC has been in insurance since 1964 and describes itself as Qatar's first domestic insurer, with operations across the GCC and the wider MENA region. Its customers, like most in the Gulf, wanted to ask questions and get quotes on WhatsApp, and the company's legacy systems had not kept up with that expectation.
The symptoms were familiar. Staff answered prospects from their own WhatsApp accounts, so conversations were scattered and invisible to managers. Prospects placed voice calls that nobody could track. Chats weren't linked to a CRM, and there was little data to make decisions with. In Gallabox's summary, the outcome was a large number of enquiries that went unattended or unmanaged and never became policies.
