How Bridge Retreats gave its marketing team its own WhatsApp channel

Bridge Retreats runs three luxury holiday properties in the UAE, and WhatsApp is where its bookings start. Its marketing team had no access to the channel and relied on inaccurate manual reports. On Gallabox, marketing now runs and tracks broadcasts itself, chatbots handle the first guest questions, and Click-to-WhatsApp ads open conversations directly.

A boutique stay brand that lives on WhatsApp

Bridge Retreats curates private escape properties in the UAE, among them a traditional farm stay and two quiet private residences, each with its own character and its own kind of guest. For a brand like that, the stay starts well before check-in.

WhatsApp is the main channel between the team and prospective guests. It is where bookings begin, questions get answered and first impressions form, in a hospitality market where plenty of other properties are competing for the same weekends.

Campaigns with no proof they worked

Marketing owned the strategy but not the channel. A separate handling team ran WhatsApp, sent the broadcasts and reported back by hand, and the reports weren't reliable — not by design, but because manual reporting on a busy messaging channel rarely captures what happened. Marketing couldn't say how many guests received a campaign, how many replied, or which property drew the most interest afterwards.

With three properties aimed at different guests, that blind spot was costly: campaigns went out, enquiries came in, and nobody could tell whether one caused the other or what to do more of. Bridge Retreats didn't evaluate other platforms. It chose Gallabox for ease of use and because marketing could run and monitor broadcasts without depending on another team.

What Bridge Retreats set up on Gallabox

Marketing now builds guest lists, sends targeted broadcasts and reads the results itself, so a campaign for the farm stay can be judged separately from one for a private residence, and the next campaign is shaped by what the last one actually did.

Chatbots handle the opening of each guest enquiry — availability, a particular property, what a stay involves — so staff join a conversation that already has context. Click-to-WhatsApp ads send people from Meta ads straight into a chat instead of a contact form, so the follow-up starts while the interest is still there.

What changed

Marketing now owns the WhatsApp channel and makes campaign decisions on its own data instead of summaries that may or may not match what happened. Staff spend less time repeating the same answers and more on guests who are already close to booking. And when someone responds to an ad, they land in a conversation at the moment their intent exists, rather than in a form nobody follows up.

The story gives no measured business results, only the company's own rating of Gallabox, so this summary quotes no figures. The original is linked above.

What a Kuwait business can take from this

Kuwait's chalet, farm and resort operators — in Khairan, Bnaider or Wafra — sell weekends on WhatsApp and Instagram, often through whoever is holding the phone that day. Give marketing its own view of broadcasts and replies, and segment by property and by the kind of weekend each one suits. Click-to-WhatsApp ads deserve a close look: when a guest messages from the ad and you reply within 24 hours, every message for the next 72 hours is free of Meta fees, templates included. Keep broadcast lists to guests who opted in, because WhatsApp limits how many marketing messages each person receives and blocks the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Are Click-to-WhatsApp ad conversations really free?
Meta's message fees are waived for 72 hours when a person messages from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook Page button and you reply within 24 hours. That stays the same after 1 October 2026. The ad spend itself is separate, and so is the platform plan.
Can a marketing team see which ad brought a WhatsApp chat?
Basic Click-to-WhatsApp labelling is on Gallabox's Basic plan. Ad attribution through Meta's Conversions API starts on Essential.
Can guests pay a chalet deposit inside the chat?
Not through WhatsApp's own payments, which aren't available in Kuwait. The bot sends a payment link from your gateway, KNET included if your gateway offers it, and a webhook from the gateway confirms the booking once it's paid.
