Three fee bands, and what each one really buys
Kuwait agency fees for fashion sit in three honest bands. 250–450 KD a month buys posting and stories on Instagram and Snapchat, basic ad management on a small budget, and someone answering DMs during working hours. 500–900 KD buys all of that plus a monthly plan tied to your actual drops, paid media across Meta, Snapchat and TikTok with reporting you can read, and one or two people who know your stock. Above 1,000 KD you are buying strategy, a content lead, and someone who will tell you to change the product, not just the caption.
What moves between bands is attention, not the number of posts. Two brands on the same 600 KD retainer get very different outcomes depending on how many other accounts that account manager carries. Ask directly: how many brands does the person on my account handle, and who writes my Arabic copy. In Kuwait, most fees under 400 KD mean one junior holding eight to twelve accounts. That is not a scam, it is arithmetic. Price the hours, not the slide deck.
Read what the fee excludes before you sign. A Kuwait retainer almost never covers ad spend, photography, video, models, influencer fees, or a website build. Some agencies also take 15 to 20 percent of media spend once you cross 1,000 KD a month in ads. Ask for the fee, the media commission, the production rate card and the notice period on one page. Three months is a fair first commitment for fashion — one Kuwait season, roughly one drop plus one sale period, is the shortest window in which you can judge anything.

Fees, ad spend and shoots are three separate lines
Ad spend is your money, not theirs, and it belongs in an ad account in your name with your card on it. For a Kuwait fashion brand, 300–800 KD a month in media is where most small brands live, rising past 1,500 KD in Ramadan, at Eid and in the back-to-school weeks of September. Snapchat and Instagram will take most of it. If an agency quotes one blended number that hides the split between their fee and your media, walk. You should be able to open Ads Manager yourself on any Tuesday and see where every fils went.
Production is priced per drop, not per month, and it is the line that decides whether the ads work at all. A clean studio shoot in Kuwait with a photographer, one model and about twelve looks runs 150–400 KD. Add a videographer for Reels and TikTok and you are at 400–700 KD. Location shoots with a stylist and a bigger cast pass 1,000 KD. Budget it four to six times a year, on your drop dates, not spread evenly across twelve months. Content is the ingredient. Everything else is distribution.
A realistic split for a brand doing 3,000–6,000 KD a month: 400 KD in fees, 500 KD in media, 300 KD averaged for shoots. Before any of that, make sure the money has somewhere to land. If you are still closing sales in DMs and WhatsApp voice notes, put the catalogue on a Shopify store with KNET checkout first. An agency sending paid traffic to a link in your Instagram bio is burning a third of your budget on friction you could have removed in a weekend.
Under 400 KD a month, do not hire an agency at all
Here is the honest line, and we are an agency saying it. If your total monthly marketing budget — fees, media and production together — is under 400 KD, do not hire an agency. At that level whatever we charge eats the money that should have gone into media and photos, and what you get back is a posting service. You are better off buying a shoot and running one campaign yourself at 8–10 KD a day. Come back when media alone can carry 400 KD a month without hurting.
For a young brand, a good photographer and a disciplined drop calendar beat a cheap retainer every time. Find one photographer in Kuwait you can afford at 150–300 KD a shoot and book them on fixed dates. Decide the year's drops now: something new every six to eight weeks, a Ramadan capsule live before the middle of Shaaban, an Eid restock, and nothing heavy in July and August when half of Kuwait is travelling. A brand that posts good images on a schedule outgrows a brand paying 300 KD for daily filler.
Hire an agency when the constraint stops being content and becomes everything around it: media that needs daily attention across three platforms, a store whose numbers you cannot read, a WhatsApp inbox nobody has answered since Thursday, and a Ramadan calendar you keep missing. That is usually somewhere past 5,000 KD a month in revenue. At that point 600 KD in fees is cheap for the hours it hands back to you. Before that point, the same 600 KD buys two shoots, and two shoots will do more.
