Occasions are worth more than covers
A table of two on a Tuesday is a transaction. A family gathering of twelve is a month's marketing budget in one booking, and it is booked by one person who becomes a repeat organiser if the evening goes well. Kuwait's dining culture is heavily group-based, and most restaurants market as if everyone arrives in pairs.
Build for the organiser: a set group menu with a clear per-head price, a simple way to reserve a large table over WhatsApp, and a birthday or celebration touch that gets photographed. Then market that specifically. The person planning a gathering is searching with far more intent than the person deciding where to grab dinner.
Creators buy trial, not loyalty
A well-chosen Kuwaiti food creator can fill a weekend. That is genuinely valuable — but it is a spike, not a base. The mistake restaurants make is treating creator collaborations as a marketing strategy rather than as a customer-acquisition event that needs a retention plan behind it.
Get the sequence right: prepare the operation for the rush, make sure your Maps profile and menu are correct before the video goes out, and have a way to capture the people who come — a WhatsApp list, a return offer, a reason to book again. Otherwise you paid for one busy weekend and kept nothing.
Make the second visit the goal of the first
Acquisition is the expensive half. Whether it was worth it depends on the second visit, and the second visit is decided by what happens at the end of the first — whether anyone gave them a reason and a way to come back.
A return offer handed over with the bill, a WhatsApp opt-in for the monthly specials, a loyalty stamp that is genuinely reachable. It costs a fraction of an ad and it turns a one-off into a customer worth several hundred dinars a year. Restaurants that skip this are permanently renting demand at full price.
