What should a restaurant in Kuwait do for Eid campaigns?

Open Eid pre-orders about ten days ahead with a hard cut-off around the 25th of Ramadan, a 25–50 percent KNET deposit, and a capped number of family platters per pickup slot. Staff heavily for the first three days, then cut back hard — Kuwait empties from day four. Sell corporate gifting three to five weeks out.

Eid money is booked before Eid starts

Your Eid revenue is decided before Eid starts. Family platters, set menus and sweets trays get ordered in the last ten days of Ramadan, not on the morning of the first day. Open pre-orders around ten days out with a fixed cut-off — usually the 25th of Ramadan — and put that date in every post. Take a deposit of 25–50 percent by KNET so the order is real and not a maybe. Cap the number of platters per pickup slot and publish the cap. A kitchen that promises 200 platters and delivers 140 of them late loses more than it made.

Direct messages are not an order system. Fifty WhatsApp threads on the 27th of Ramadan is how deposits get lost and platters get double-booked. Put the Eid menu on a real pre-order page with KNET checkout, pickup slots and a hard quantity limit — your own store on Shopify does this in an afternoon and leaves you owning the customer list afterwards. Delivery apps take 20–30 percent of an order you already paid to advertise. On your own page a 35 KD platter stays 35 KD, and you know exactly how much lamb to buy on the 28th.

Price the platter for the table, not the plate. A family platter for six at 18–25 KD reads as good value and lifts your average ticket far above the usual 4–6 KD à la carte order. Bundle so the extras ride along: platter plus a sweets box plus drinks at one price. Photograph the real platter, on a real table, at the size a family will actually receive. The most common Eid complaint in Kuwait is that the tray looked bigger in the picture. One honest photo saves you a week of refund messages and a run of one-star reviews.

The first three days are the whole season, then it goes quiet

Eid traffic in Kuwait is front-loaded. Days one to three are chaos: families out after Eid prayer, morning gatherings, sweets, service running past midnight. From day four the country empties — a big share of your customers are in Dubai, Salalah or Istanbul, and Eid Al Adha is harder still because it lands inside the summer travel window. Plan staff and stock against that curve, not against an average week. Over-staff the first three days and cut back sharply from the fourth. Prepping day five the way you prepped day one is how a small kitchen throws away 300–600 KD in waste.

Publish your Eid hours everywhere you can be found, and update them the same day: special hours on your Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, WhatsApp away message, and every delivery app. A large share of bad Eid reviews in Kuwait are about a locked door, not the food. If you open late on day one because the team prays first, say "we open 1pm on Eid day" instead of leaving normal hours showing. Build the rota three weeks ahead, pay the holiday premium, and give people days four and five off — demand collapses then anyway, so the rest costs you nothing.

Move the ad budget with the same curve. Spend heavily in the last week of Ramadan on pre-orders and gifting, hold a normal daily budget across days one to three, then drop to almost nothing from day four to the end of the week. A restaurant with 400 KD for Eid should put roughly 250 KD before the holiday, 120 KD across the first three days, and keep the rest for the quiet stretch. Snapchat and Instagram Stories carry Eid here: vertical, loud, family-sized food, with the price and the cut-off date on screen in the first two seconds.

Corporate gifting closes weeks before anyone thinks about Eid

Corporate Eid gifting is booked three to five weeks before Eid. If you start selling it in the final week, you have already missed it. Companies, clinics, banks and dewaniya hosts order sweets boxes, date and chocolate trays and branded platters in runs of 30 to 300. Send a one-page price sheet with three tiers — roughly 4, 7 and 12 KD per box — plus minimum quantity, branding options and the delivery date, and send it around the middle of Sha'ban for Eid Al Fitr. One corporate order of 150 boxes is often a bigger day than your entire first day of walk-ins.

Work the list you already have before you advertise to strangers. WhatsApp the companies that ordered last Eid or last National Day — a returning corporate buyer costs nothing to reach and closes in two messages. Take the delivery address and contact name at order time, deliver a day early rather than on Eid morning when the roads are impossible, and put a card in every box with a QR code to your pre-order page. That box sits in an office of forty people for a week. Count how many of them order from you in the following month; that number is the real return.

Frequently asked questions

What Eid offers actually work in Kuwait?+

Bundles beat discounts in the first three days. A family platter for six at 18–25 KD, or a platter plus sweets box at one price, raises the ticket instead of cutting it. Save straight percentage-off for day four onward, when traffic collapses — 20 percent off on days five to seven fills tables you were going to lose anyway.

When should I launch my Eid Al Fitr campaign?+

Corporate gifting goes out around the middle of Sha'ban, roughly five weeks ahead. Consumer pre-orders open around the 15th of Ramadan and close on the 25th. Anything launched after the 27th is competing with every other restaurant at close to double the ad cost, and your kitchen cannot source for it that late anyway.

How do I handle staff and hours over the Eid holiday?+

Build the rota three weeks out. Full crew on days one to three, half crew from day four, and post special hours on your Google Business Profile before day one. Budget the holiday premium at around 1.5 times the normal shift rate — it is far cheaper than being short-staffed on the busiest three days of the quarter.
