Know the bands before you open the DM
Here are the bands most Kuwait accounts quote. Micro accounts, roughly 5,000 to 30,000 followers: 15–50 KD for a story, 50–150 KD for a Reel or TikTok, 80–200 KD for a full review. Mid-tier, 30,000 to 150,000: 50–150 KD a story, 150–400 KD a Reel, 250–600 KD a review. Large accounts above 150,000: 150–400 KD a story, 400–900 KD a Reel, 600–1,500 KD a review. The household Kuwaiti names above half a million start at 400 KD for a story and pass 2,500 KD for a Reel.
Below all of that sits seeding: you send the product as a gift and the influencer owes you nothing. Send ten boxes to addresses in Salmiya and Hawally and you typically get three or four posts, most of them a five-second story with no link and no code. Budget it as sampling cost, not media spend. It works when the product photographs well and lands in your hands under 10 KD. Some accounts take a middle deal, free product plus 30 to 80 KD as a shipping fee, which buys one story and a tag and is the cleanest way to test a name.
Treat every number above as a negotiation range that moves fast. The same account that took 200 KD in September will ask 400 KD in Ramadan, again in the week before Eid, and again during Hala February. July and August are the opposite: half of Kuwait is travelling, engagement drops, and managers get flexible. Rates jump the moment an account has a viral month or a television appearance, and drift quietly back down when it goes quiet. Nobody publishes a rate card in this market, so ask three comparable accounts in the same week and let the spread show you the real price.

Judge the price by the orders it must produce
Followers do not pay your rent, orders do. Before you agree to any fee, do one calculation: divide the price by your average order value times your gross margin. If your average order is 25 KD and you keep 40 percent, every order contributes 10 KD. A 300 KD Reel therefore has to produce 30 orders just to break even, and 60 before it has genuinely paid for itself. Say that number out loud before you send the deposit. Most stores never do, which is exactly why they end up describing a 400 KD post as good exposure.
Now sanity-check it. A mid-tier Kuwaiti account with 60,000 followers might put 6,000 to 12,000 real views on a story. At the half a percent to two percent that a warm product story converts, that is 30 to 240 clicks and often fewer than 15 orders. Against a 10 KD contribution that is 150 KD of gross profit for a 200 KD story. It is not a scam, it is arithmetic, and it gives you the honest answer: negotiate the fee down, raise the ticket with a bundle, or pick a smaller account whose audience actually buys.
So measure it properly. Give every influencer their own discount code and their own link, and never settle for we got a lot of DMs. That means orders have to land somewhere you own and can read, a proper store on Shopify with KNET checkout, not a WhatsApp thread and a screenshot of a transfer. Then judge the post on delivered orders in the seven days after it goes live, plus repeat purchases at ninety days. Influencers who bring real buyers are happy to be measured. The ones who resist a code are telling you something.
Usage rights are a separate line, not a favour
The fee you agreed buys one thing: the post, on their account, for as long as the deal says. It does not buy the right to run that video as your own advertisement. The moment you want to boost it, drop it into a Snapchat or Meta ad set, or keep it on your product page after it expires, that is usage rights and it is a separate line. In Kuwait the normal ask is another 30 to 100 percent of the original fee for thirty to ninety days of paid usage, and more again if you want to run it in Saudi and the UAE.
Agree it in writing before the shoot, not after the Reel performs. Settle four other things in the same message: the exact publish date and time, how long it stays up, whether they will work with a competing store in your category within sixty days, and whether they will whitelist the post so you can run it as a partnership or Spark ad from their handle. That last one is often worth more than the post itself, because the content keeps their face and their credibility while you control the budget, the targeting and the frequency.
